Boxer dog friends

Daisy and Zoee are the best of friends.

They wrestle, play fetch together and they love tug of war. I am so grateful they have each other.

They are BOTH spoiled rotten. Most of the time when I order from Chewy they know the boxes. I think they smell them but anyway they normally get new balls, toys or chews. Well now when I get a box from Amazon there standing there like “what did you get me now” these are some crazy spoiled dogs.

Dogs need plenty of exercise and there is plenty of room to run and play here at our house. Its been so hot we try not to play fetch unless its early a.m. or late p.m. but sometimes Daisy insist on it.

Zoee had a visit a week ago to the vet shes having some enviromental allergies so we are bathing her in a special shampoo for that. In the country who knows what that could be.

Daisy loves her pool and Zoee loves the waterhose I guess that is never going to change. Zoee makes it really hard to water my plants.

The dogs have been on Iiams dog food for a good while. Our daughter was telling me what she feeds the Cane Corsos is the ” Diamond High Energy” it has 24% protein and 20% fat so its good for active dogs. You can get it at the feed stores. They also have a regular one for those not so high energy dogs.

They are in the process of trying this new food out they have had this bag about 1 week. They do not seem to be eating as much of it which tells me they must be getting fuller.

Cost wise the Iiams 33# bag was about $33.00 the Diamond is a 50# bag for $30.00 so its much cheaper and a better quality food. Hopefully it works out.  I wanted to pass this onto all my friends with several dogs.

Sometimes capturing these two on camera can be a challenge but I grabbed a few shots Thursday evening and Friday morning early.

The first picture they both have their eyes shut. Zoee can pull Daisy around when playing Tug of War I have not figured out how. The third picture Daisy was waiting for the ball to be thrown. Last picture Zoee was trying to figure out how to steal the chuck it thrower.

Cane Corso Pups 2

Our daughter Jeanelle only has two Cane Corso Pups left the rest of the pups have been picked out and deposits have been made.

I took the second series of pics last week and they turned out so cute. It was hard stuffing 4 in this basket but I love this picture.

In these pictures they are 4 weeks and a few days old they just turned 5 weeks old and will be ready for their new homes at 8 weeks.

The two pics below the orange collar Blue one and red collar Blue Brindle one are the two pups that are left.

These puppies have all been well taken care of and been around our grandkids since day one they love kids.

They will be getting their first shots soon.

Zoee the growing pup

Zoee is growing fast she weighs 43.8 #s at almost 9 months old.

She is the typical boxer puppy who jumps on you too much and is very hyper. I love it when she takes off running like a racehorse.

Daisy and Zoee are both have pollen allergy eyes right now. Zoee seems to have it worse.

I have come to the conclusion she is a sealed brindle there is brown hair under the black and it is a lot more noticeable around her shoulder area. Look on the front facing shoulder area and you can see it.

Zoee tore her carpal pad this is the pad that is up on the ankle area of a dog. I took her to the vet they sedated her and super glued bandaged it and told me to take off in a few days. I had to put on the collar thing to keep her from bothering it. Well, the super glue did not hold she would not keep the collar on and I even ordered a better one. It’s healing on its own so we will leave it alone.

I think Daisy is truly enjoying have Zoee around they are best friends and truly love each other.

Mr. Bird Update

Mr. Bird seems to be doing pretty well since his kidney issue.

I kept him in the house for a few weeks so I could syringe water a few times a day to make sure he was drinking enough. He also had medication that he needed.

He was so glad to get to go back outside again since he loves the outdoors he goes in and out a few times a day.  He loves basking in the sun, climbing fences, trees and chasing birds he never catches.

Our son Jeremy told me to get a cat fountain that in convinces animals to drink more water. I found one for about $20.00. We have had it about a month and the cats seem to be drinking a lot from it.

I took him off the Science Diet Urinary food because it was $40.00 for 24 – 3 oz cans.

I wanted to try the Purina Urinary Cat food and it is $21.00 for the 3 oz cans. Almost 1/2 price so hopefully it works. I also ordered the Purina Dry Urinary food. He seems to like the foods just fine.

Mr. Bird has such a tough life he is spoiled rotten but we love him and so do the dogs lol.

Portrait lenses

I love my portrait lenses but one of my favorites is my Canon 85mm 1.8.

This particular portrait lens allows you to do close-ups with details such as in this picture with Miss Daisy resting.

This lens can isolate the subject while allowing a shallow depth of field. Basically allowing the background to be creamy and out of focus.

If you love photography and do not have a portrait lens do your self a favor and get you one.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone I hope you have your shopping done.

For me, it was easy this year I had everything but a few things shipped to our door.

Photo sessions with Miss Daisy have always been easy but add in Zoee and let the challenge begin lol

I will be posting some of the pics over the next week but I want to try one more time and get a shot I really really LOVE.

Mr. Bird

Mr. Bird has been acting strange the last couple of days. He is a neutered male cat that is almost 9 years old. He weighed in at almost 15#’s.

I was stalking him this morning using the litter box and discovered he would go to pee but nothing was coming out. Then he would cry and growl somewhat this is not normal for him.

I took him to the vet this a.m. and he took out a syringe of urine so it would help his pain he has two kinds of stones. They did a urinalysis and a looked at it under the microscope.

Apparently, this is quite common in cats but especially male cats.

He’s taking antibiotics and tomorrow we will try the catheter for a few days and do some blood work but he may end up in surgery tomorrow instead.

He seems very uncomfortable he’s such a laid back cat normally. I have him in his own room so he can rest without puppy intervention. I hate it when something is wrong with one of my animals.

The cat and dog match

Daisy has shared Zoee with Mr. Bird who does not seem to mind the clumsy feet of a boxer puppy.

They stayed like this for at least one hour then Bird got up and laid on top of Zoee.

Its wonderful everyone is getting along so well.

The little moments like this that I get to capture with my camera really make my day.
