The Eastern Bluebirds

The Eastern bluebirds nested somewhere close by our house but not in any of our 6 birdhouses.I caught the dad and two babies in the birdbath yesterday.

I have been seeing lots of activity at the birdbaths due to the heat. They like the shallow ones rather than my deep ones but I added stuff in the deep ones but they are still a no go.

I love getting to see the young ones I have never seen the juvenile bluebirds before.

This really made my day.

Registered Cane Corso Puppies

Our daughters wordpress site is Shady Acres Rosharon.

They just had their first litter of Registered Cane Corso Puppies all the information on the puppies is on her site if you happen to be interested in one.

Here are a few pics I took of the pups yesterday. They are 2 1/2 weeks old and already this big lol. These are all seven boys.

Yellow Crowned Night Heron

This juvenile yellow crowned night heron has been hanging around in our pasture.

They say the juveniles will stay in the area they are raised for a good while.

We have had a lot of crawdads from all the rain and that is one thing they love to eat. You will often see these birds in the ditches hunting for bugs and crawdads.

Nature never ceases to amaze me and I truly enjoy getting to see her beauty in the wildlife that graces us with its presence from time to time.

Balance and inner peace

Often times we walk past something without noticing it.

Then one day we look down and see the beauty in the Verbena that is cascading across the moss rock. It is those days that let me know my life is in balance and that I have inner peace.

Life is simple but sometimes our minds are so cluttered with things we never get to find that balance.

Take a deep breath walk outside and look for something that brings you joy. Stand there and enjoy the moment.

Fitbit Versa No Warranty

In June 2018 I had bought myself the Fitbit Versa and I paid $200.00 for this watch. This was my gift to myself for completing my cancer treatment.

At that time I wrote a review on here about the watch & how much I liked it. If you want to read that review it is here:

https://sonyalira.com/2018/06/03/fitbit-versa/

I liked the size of the Versa and I could see it good at that point the battery was lasting 5 days and that was a big plus.

I had to contact Fitbit this week for the first time about my Versa because now the battery last 1 – 1 1/2 days at the most. I only use for tracking my activity and my sleep. There is nothing else causing it to drain down so fast.

They informed me there is nothing they can do but give me 25% off a new watch.

I informed them I think at this point I will NOT be buying another Fitbit product. I will be trying out some other brands that advertise the same thing or better at a cheaper price.

Paying $200.00 for something that lasted for 13 months is a JOKE. If a company can not warranty their products for something like this they need to change the wording on the battery life to say “warning after this product is about 10 months old expect for the battery to decline.”

My original review of this product was good but I will no longer support any Fitbit products.

A lot of color

I normally buy quite a few new plants during the spring and summer.

Plants brighten up spaces many multiply and you can share with someone special.

Watering all the plants is therapeutic for me and it helps me clear my head and enjoy the great outdoors.

This year I planted about 1200 flower seeds.

One of my favorite flowers are the zinnias they are in all shapes and colors and have been beautiful.

If you love a lot of color add some flowers in different colors to your yard and porch.

Flowers brighten my day and thanks to my sister reminding me about pressing flowers I have been doing that the last three weeks.

Jack is going to be making me a 12 x 12 flower press and the little grandkids some small ones. I think this is something they might enjoy doing.

Spider Lily

My sister Sheri and I swap plants, cuttings and flower bulbs.

We both have so many different things we have a blast trading plants.

This Spider Lily is one of two she gave me last year and the blooms are huge.

Have a safe and happy Fourth Of July weekend.

Meal Prep Containers

We have bought many of the meal prep containers from Amazon over the last five years.

They can go from freezer to microwave or just in the fridge for leftovers.

At first, we had the rectangle ones then I bought the divided rectangle ones and last I have bought the round ones.

The last ones I bought were a couple of weeks ago and they were $15.00 for 30 of them.

You can find a lot of different sizes of them here:

Meal Prep Containers

They last pretty well and its easier than finding a lid to a million Rubbermaid containers that are different sizes. Just remember if you get the same size from different places the lids will probably be different. I honestly hate playing the lid hunt game.

I love using them for leftovers and for lunches.

These work great to take meals to someone special. I use them to take meals to my mother n law and normally I take 3 meals at a time. She loves it because she never knows what she might be getting for dinner.

We eat chicken probably three times a week so I try to come up with different ideas using chicken so it does not get too boring.

Here is one of our favorite recipes.

Chicken Spaghetti:

Brown 8 – 10 chicken breast tenderloins in a little butter.

Then use that same pan to brown some onion 1/2 of a medium sized onion.

Cook the spaghetti noodles

In a bowl mix a large can of cream of mushroom soup, with one can of Rotel tomatoes, and one can of green chilis. The green chilis have this aroma that smells throughout the house and makes your mouth water.

Cut the chicken into bite size pieces stir into the spaghetti add the liquid and 2 cups of cheddar cheese.

I also top with cheddar cheese and bake in the oven for 45 minutes. I cover the pan with foil for all but the last 5 minutes.

Give this recipe a try and let me know what you think.
