Cricket in the clover

Miss. Cricket is the first one to get to do Clover pics this year.

With our 3 dogs its much easier for me to do pics of them one at a time.

Cricket is 13 months old and probably still about the same weight of 150#s she seems like she has gotten taller.

She loves to eat sticks, wood and play fetch for about 10 throws at the most believe it or not she runs fast.

When she’s running toward you it will scare you to death because you think she is going to broadside you and knock you down but she always avoids doing it.

She loves to put her feet in her water bowl not sure what that is all about. Sometimes I catch her splashing in the water bowl and she has a trough that she can actually get it but rarely does.

Her food intake is 2 x a day 3 cups each feeding.

Sometimes this year Cricket will be bred for the first time. It has to be after August because registered dogs have to be 18 months old to breed the first time. Cricket is dual registered so she is super special lol.

We tried several things with these pictures full sun head-on or shaded by Jack who was standing in front of her on the laying down picture. Her actual coloring shows better in the full sun picture. Look at the size of her head! When she puts an XL Chunk It ball in her mouth it disappears. You do not even know she has the ball in her mouth.

Dogs have a way of stealing your heart and melting your soul but most of all changing your life forever.

The boxer dog kiss

Our two boxers dogs love to run, play and wrestle together.

Daisy is 6 yrs and 9 months & Zoee is 1 yr 6 months.

They get into these kissing sessions that are normally initiated by Miss Zoee she loves her Miss Daisy girl.

I wanted to do their pics together so I raked up the cypress tree leaves into a large pile and this was their idea of a photo session.

Gotta love these two doggies.

Stripey Stripe

Stripey and Harry are two kittens that adopted us about 5 years ago.

Stripey was the one who had the broken jaw that the vet had to do surgery on and rewire his jaw before he was a year old. At the same time this surgery happened I had him neutered but not declawed because they lived outdoors and he needed his claws for protection.

He and his brother were outside cats unless we had really cold weather then I brought them inside. They hunted mice and birds in the barns and pastures. Every morning they greeted me ready to eat and every evening it was the same thing. At night was when they went off and hunted.

Stripey has been missing for 7 days today and I am so upset as well as his brother Harry seems depressed without him around.

This after our oldest indoor cat Ishy passed away about 5 weeks ago she was 14 years old.

Harry nor Stripey liked strangers so I know no one got him. I just have no idea what could have happened. He was here the night before and was acting fine and eating. I knew when he wasn’t there for his morning feeding something was up.

Fourth Of July

Everyone, please remember that most pets do not like fireworks. Many run away from home if left outside during the fireworks. Bring the pets in so they have the security.

Daisy does not seem bothered by them but then again she stays in the house.

Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July.

Daisy dog

Daisy wanted to pop in and say HEY.

She has had a tough time playing fetch this summer in the heat and we always play in the early morning or later afternoon.

Since it has cooled off some she wants to play all day long.

When she gets hot she goes and gets in her pool to cool off. If she needs a break she will go fetch her ball and then lay under a tree across the backyard. When she is ready to go again she comes running.

She is always cooperative for a picture even if she wants to play fetch at the time.

I love my Daisy girl.

The spirit of Shadow

This dog along with another was apparently dumped near our daughter’s house.

Our daughter put their pictures on next door a neighborhood site but no one came forward. The male was a mixed breed and the female was a lab.

She loves to swim and our daughter has a pond. This dog swims underwater and is under for like 15 seconds and you can not see her at all and then she pops back up again and starts dog paddling.

After a couple of days, she was able to catch the female and bring her to our house since we have a fenced-in back yard.

I thought that Andrew named her Shadow but out daughter said no that was his chicken. I guess I called her Shadow lol.

Daisy was so excited to have a friend to play fetch with now she is quite sad because Shadow left last night.

We figure this lab is about 1 – 1 1/2 years old and she appears to be in good health. She has been trained she does not bark but most hunting dogs do not bark, she sits, stays, lays down and plays fetch bringing a ball, stick, or even a log she drops them at your feet.

Daisy had an old collar that fit her perfectly.

I can not stress enough to everyone with pets to get them a tag with their name and your phone number on it that attaches to their collars. That way if your pet is lost you can be reunited.

As far as people dumping animals it makes me sick because animals depend on us for food, water, and shelter. When you dump them they have to survive on their own or by the kindness of strangers.

This dog stole our daughter’s heart and then she stole mine. We both wanted to keep her. The only thing stopping me from keeping her was she would not stay out of the koi pond.

Our oldest daughter was coming into town and had actually found her a home. She was going to be taking her back to Dallas. That was until she met her and fell in love with her just like we did so now Shadow will be living with her.

Of course, I had to do a photo session.

One look in a dog’s eyes and you can see through to its soul and connect with it.

Shadow’s spirit and personality are great and when everyone is falling in love with the same dog you know that dog has something special to offer.

A cat’s life

Around April 2015 a mama cat deserted her kittens that were about 6-8 weeks old and I tried to save them all but I couldn’t.
Stripey and Harry were the two survivors.

They were probably not quite a year old yet and something was wrong with Stripey. I took him to the vet to find out his jaw was broken he had been kicked in the jaw by someone. He had surgery his jaw had to be wired shut for many weeks. Needless to say, this was quite and expensive visit. The vet neutered him for free at the same time.

I later had Harry neutered so all our cats are fixed. We do our part to help the overpopulation of cats in the world.

We were not in the market any more cats at the time but needless to say, we inherited these two. They stay outdoors unless the weather’s bad then I bring them in the house.

This the life of these two cats lots of lounging around following me around in the pasture because they are quite snoopy. They eat two times a day and stalk lizards,
small snakes, birds, and anything that crosses their path.

Mr. Bird is good friends with them and they are always getting into mischief.

The cat’s life is a rough life. The first picture is Stripey and the second one is Harry.
