Texas cold blast and our insurance

I realize a lot of people have had issues with their insurance since the Texas Cold Blast issue. I am so sorry this has happened to so many people.

We have been very blessed with a really good insurance company and great agents.

Everything has been done virtually via video calls, pics taken by me, and phone calls. They even have a site to upload your images to.

Document everything the water touched when the pipes broke and if the ceiling caved in you are supposed to report it all.

We ended up with 3 leaks involving the kitchen, dining, and washroom. The leaks have been fixed the pipe has been replaced with PEX all the faucets had to be replaced and this has all been done. We had one sheetrock cave in the kitchen/ dining room this was a large hole that involved dropping nasty waster, insulation, and debris on our countertops, wood laminate floor, and kitchen table. Our cabinets in the washroom were dripping water and the water was dripping onto the floor, hot water heater, and freezer.

We are waiting on the sheetrock to be done but we did buy supplies when we found them just in case the shortage lasted for awhile. The hole has been temporarily covered up. We were able to find what PEX supplies we did not have online on Amazon.

We are supposed to have a check issued to us on Friday for our damages via direct deposit. I am very grateful for our insurance company and the people working for them.

There are still really good companies out there and if your lucky you have one of the good ones.

Medical Insurance vs Cash Pay

I needed to get an MRI and I have not met the deductible of my new insurance.

My cost was going to be $3300.00 needless to say I canceled the appointment.

Our daughter Jeanelle told me to call back and get the cash price.

It will be $394.00 for the MRI and Approx: $95.00 for the radiologist to read it. Less than $500.00 this is so crazy.

I called back and made a new appointment and it is one day before the other one was.      I will be paying cash and smiling that I saved a bunch of money in the process.

MRIs and I do not get along so this time we are trying Diazepam 30 minutes before and another at the time of the test if I need it, nighttime sleep mask, and earplugs. Hopefully, I can get through it.

I am normally not claustrophobic but there is something about the MRI that really bothers me. I think it is the combination of the tunnel and the noise.

Amazon Delivery and Damages To Property

Amazon needs to seriously train their drivers better.

January 23 this driver saw the deep ditch out on the road and decided she was scared she would back into it so she wanted to turn around in our yard. The yard was wet it had rained the day before.

IF that was not enough she did not even come to the door to apologize. I went out there and asked her what she was thinking of turning around in our yard. All she said was ” I am sorry”. I told her she should NEVER damage someone’s property.

She sat there stuck in our yard for 4 hours waiting on a tow truck. Now, what IF I needed to go somewhere I could not have gotten out of my own driveway because she was sideways across it.

I contacted Amazon that day they gave me their insurance to contact since this was a lease truck it was a different department than the Amazon trucks. I did a report was promised a check a month ago I still have not gotten the check.

This is all over one load of sand for the cost of the damages. I told them sand runs $100. – $150.00.

I am a very frequent Amazon customer to the tune of 95 packages so far this year.

Amazon instead of sending an email LYING saying a check was released for the damages caused by your driver try to contact your customer to give them an update. I am so angry about this situation.

Even our dogs were shocked over the damage.

Amazon I must say dealing with you over our property damage caused by your driver SUCKS!

Thyroid scan & Lung CT

Today I am getting my thyroid scanned with an ultrasound.  This is one more test I can check off the list.

I had an ultrasound on it a few years ago I am sure I have a copy of the report I need to find it for comparison.

Next week I should be getting my 2nd Low dose lung CT scan. It has almost been 3 months and I am so ready to get this one over with and get some good news.

I have an appointment with the pulmonologist on September 7th to do my breathing test and go over the CT results.

Testing is so important for us we all just need to utilize it and our insurance.
