Second and Third Week

The second week of radiation went pretty good I was nowhere near as tired.

I had one painful day where it felt like a stabbing pain under my arm other than that all was good. I used an ice pack to help with this.

The third week has been good and I am a little more tired this week. I am trying to stay busy to keep my mind off of being less than halfway through with this.

Week 4 – 5 is when the burns generally start to happen next week will be my week 4.

Next week I have a bone scan for a baseline before I start the hormone blockers in 3 1/2 more weeks. I made sure to schedule it right after my radiation appointment you have to coordinate these things are you are back and forth all the time.

I ordered myself the prettiest necklace for breast cancer. My sister bought me a tee shirt that says “Rebel with a cause”.

She and I get together one time a week for shopping and we are truly enjoying ourselves. Sometimes we even go out to lunch and make a long day of it.

We might go to Resale stores, Tuesday Morning, Habitat Restore, Hotel Liquidators, Garage Sales or shop auctions online needless to say we have found some pretty cool stuff.

I won a beautiful dresser at an auction for $100.00 it was brand new 8 drawer white dresser it’s in my office to give me more storage. The retail of this dresser was $350.00.

My sister found me a plastic cow head I will be doing something with just not sure what way I want to go with it. Some people paint them wild colors, some use the silver or gold leafing on them, some glue fabric on them. Some people spray paint them there are just so many ways to go with this plastic cow head.

She also found me 3 of the wooden room service trays they are HUGE I used the liquid sander on them to remove the varnish and I have them primed. I know one for sure will be getting a liquid paint treatment I love the look of the paint and the cells. Of course, I had to buy the silicone and the Floetrol to do it with. Another craft to get into lol.

I am still fighting like a girl.

Chickens

Chickens, Chickens everywhere.

The first chickens are maybe 11 months the second ones are about 2 months old.

The one by herself Little Chicky adopted our daughter we think she’s the same kind as the second ones.

The older chickens lay eggs now so that is a good thing.

Merry Christmas

Jack, Daisy and I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

In the first picture, Daisy was bored waiting for the next treat. The monkey beside her is her new toy for Christmas.

I almost did not get these done this year. My studio is messed up right now and it is to wet outdoors to do pictures. We had to do them in the guest room. The sweater fits her fine but the tee shirt was to tight so we had to skip it.

Be careful if your on the roads traveling this weekend. Enjoy your time with your family, friends and most of all your pets.

Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my dad’s birthday he would have been 78 – years old.

He passed away September 1, 2014 – 3 years ago from esophageal cancer right before he would have been 75.

I think the hardest part of my dad dying was that I replay our last conversations over and over in my head.

I have put the pieces together of EVERYTHING he was trying to tell me. My dad was trying to warn me what would happen when he was gone he was trying to prepare me for it. Nothing could ever prepare me for what has happened.

Happy Birthday, DAD, I love you and miss you.

A little boys lego collection

Our grandson Andrew who is 6 -years old has been collecting legos for quite a few years.
He has always been into the tiny legos even when he was not old enough for them.

He loves the sets that make a town, police station, fire station etc. His mom and dad have bought him plenty of these through the years for him.
He would ask for them for his birthday and Christmas so the rest of us would buy them for him. Any money he earned doing jobs he spent on Legos.

Legos is by far his favorite toy because your imagination can run wild.

His lego collection was in the school room because it was a place he could go and build in peace without the disruption from his twin sisters or baby brother. Most of the time he would do this just to have a place he could leave stuff built at. Sometimes his sisters would go in there and build stuff with him.

When the barn flooded the water from the goats and chickens pen and stalls rushed into the school room ruining his Lego collection along with all the school books.

Our daughter said even with Clorox she does not feel safe trying to save the lego collection.

I had him pick out two sets and then I picked out a 3rd that will be delivered to him next Thursday. He picked out a fire rescue, a lodge and I picked out a fishing boat set.

With children, their things mean as much to them as ours does to us. He was very stressed during the storm thinking it was going to take down their house. He was so excited to see the water finally going down.

The least those of us in his family can do is replace as many as we can to help a little boys imagination be stimulated once again by Legos.

More goats on the farm

Our daughter and her husband drove 7 hours to pick up 2 more registered Nigerian dairy goats

One grown one already had babies and still has milk she will be bred again in August. Our daughter can practice milking on this goat 1 x a day because she still has milk. The other one was just bred and should have her babies in December. I said, babies, because most goats have multiples.

While they were there they went ahead and bought a buck and they were given a wether to keep the buck company. They say wethers make really good pets.

Now they have a total of 7 goats. I think that will be all the goats for now because some will be having babies and others will be bred when they are old enough.

I hope to get some pictures of them next week to share.
