All together now

This is our daughter Jeanelle’s herd of cows at their family farm.

The Miniature Herefords are on the left side. The Jersey milk cow and calf in the middle, the Belted Galloways on the right.

Left to right is Cecil the bull, Penny the youngest heifer, Scamper who is Pennys mom, Cadilac, Blue Bell, Sirloin son of Blue Bell, Oreo and Darla.

I love cows they have such cute personalities this group is very friendly and very photogenic.

Cows and Calves

I grabbed a few more pictures of the mama cows and the calves.

The first two pictures that baby is a week younger than the other one.

They are adorable always running and acting silly.

A little heifer is born

The first calf was born on the farm and she is a registered miniature Hereford heifer named Penny.

She is about 2 weeks old in these pictures and you can tell she is very small. Compare her to the fence post by her mom.

She loves the kids and all the attention she has been getting.

That’s Bull

The little farm has added Cecil a miniature registered Hereford Bull.

Talk about cute he is short and stocky and he is like a 600# dog lol.

I was able to get a few good pictures of him and in the background is Darla on the left and Oreo on the right, they are Belted Galloways.

Miniature cows

Shady Acres Rosharon has two types of miniature cows.

There are two miniatureĀ Herefords and two Belted Galloway’s. The black and white Galloway Oreo is currently at the breeder being bred. Scamper is officially bred and due in late October to early November.

The one in the middle in the top picture is Scamper to her left is Cadilac and Darla is to the right.

We hand pick clover out of our pasture for her animals they all love it.

The cows are all super friendly and love to get attention.

The expressions of cows

Today I took out the camera it has been awhile.

I headed for the heifers next door and caught these cuties just in time.

The tongue shot was just good timing she had been eating molasses.

These cows lay on the edge of the round bale so this is why they have hay all over them. They do not seem to mind at all even if it is picture time.

Cows have many expressions and I love trying to capture their true personalities.

Moo

Some recently bought calves from an auction moved from across the street from us to next door.

See those ear tags with numbers those are from an auction. Many of these numbers are in a row so I think that would mean from the same person herd of cows.

I love having cows next door it has been a long time since this has happened.

Daisy is not quite sure yesterday she ran at the fence with her ball in her mouth thinking she could scare them. They stood their ground and she went on her merry way lol.

These girls are quite friendly they come to the fence to talk to me and some let me pet them. They seem to like to take pictures.

Scamper the miniature Hereford

Last weekend our daughter, her husband, and children went to pick up a registered miniatureĀ Hereford. Meet Scamper she is 19 months old.

She is halter broke, very friendly and has been gettingĀ to know her new surroundings. She and the goats seem to be okay with each other. Andrew has actually walked her a few times this is how gentle she is.

As a miniature, she will not get any taller just stockier. She will top out with a weight at 650# – 850#s.

I am looking forward to more photo sessions with Scamper.
