There are so many types of Aloe plants.
I have four or five different varieties.
Many of mine have bloomed this year.
I love succulents.
This year has been very productive for the rabbits.
We had a nest of bunnies in the backyard that the dogs found but we saw them and protected them.
We have 4 medium-sized rabbits I see every evening in the pasture and on the deck.
I saw two just a while ago in the pasture and today there were two babies eating bird seed.
I bought them some Timothy Hay and Alfalfa cubes to feed them. I am sure it’s better for them than birdseed. Jack is going to get me some rabbit food tomorrow. I am also filling water bowls around since this drought is brutal on the animals.
They have probably been watching us longer than we have them. I really do love the wildlife.
The grandkids and I love to craft together.
We have this birdhouse wall on the side of the well shed.
All the houses would not fit so there are a few more across the yard from these.
We have not seen any birds nest in them but who knows maybe some birds will like condo-type living.
This was done more for decoration to add some color to the backyard.
Make your yard stand out with bright colors so every time you walk out there it makes you smile.
This young cardinal is somewhere between 9 – 11 days old that is when they fledge the nest.
The day before yesterday I was watering the shrub it was in and boy did it squeal. With our current drought, there’s not been a lot of rain. I had no idea there was a nest in the shrub.
A few hours later I look out and I see the parents circling it to get off a limb of another shrub and fly. I got to get a few pictures in between all the action. I can hear them fussing so I know the baby is not listening.
This was my first time seeing a cardinal fledgling and I adore red birds so this meant a lot to me.
I loved the color of yellow on this brightly colored planter.
I wished it was bigger but bought it for the color.
It was big enough to hold two moss rose plants.
Let me tell you these plants love the location and have been showing off.
Moss rose is one of my favorite plants I have it in about 5 different locations in the yard.
I love the fushia pink moss rose next to the yellow planter.
Accenting with pops of color in your yard keeps it from being too boring and makes it fun.
I love flower pots anything unique is right up my alley.
Normally I love bright colors, patterns, etc. but I knew I needed one of these head planters.
This one is called David and I got one for my sister Sheri and one for me.
I love the way the hair turned out it looks like dreadlocks.
Our daughter Jeanelle thinks the head planters are creepy.
Being creative with the design or grouping of the planters and the plants can be a challenge but I love it.
For lunch today I made us Caprese Salad it’s very light and something good for a hot summer day.
Recipe
3-4 good-sized tomatoes these are homegrown that is why the colors are so good.
1 – 8oz ball of soft mozzarella
Fresh Basil Leaves
Sea Salt, Pepper, Parsley, and Olive Oil.
Cut up the tomatoes, cheese and basil leaves mix with olive oil, and add salt, pepper, and parsley drizzle with olive oil.
We have officially canned 68 quarts of pickles.
There are 56 jars of dill slices, spears, and whole dills.
Then there are 12 jars of bread and butter pickles.
Our daughter Jeanelle’s kids love our pickles and will have plenty to eat.
The tomatoes and cucumbers are top producers right now in the garden.
