Hawk in the fog

One morning last week it was really foggy the dew was heavy and wet feeling.

I noticed this hawk on the fence post across the street sitting there with feathers slightly ruffled pondering the idea that maybe later there would be some sunshine.

I was able to get a few shots through the window without being spotted.

This hawk having a bad feather day must know how it feels when we have a bad hair day.

Nature truly inspires me and always makes me smile.

Birds in Feeders

Around here there are so many birds. I have to have different kinds of feeders in select locations so everyone can eat.

These birds decided to sit in the concrete feeders I made.

One is having seed and one is having orange slices. I have learned not to throw away fruit there are certain birds that love it.

The little things in life make each day special look around and find some little things.

Springtime

Springtime is my favorite time of the year.

It’s not cold it’s not too hot it just perfect.

Except for my allergies which have been horrible the last week.

I love working in the yard and the flower beds I like buying new plants and flowers and making everything look pretty.

This flowerbed I am currently working on it needs more petunias in a contrasting color.

The frog planter and balls are new I found this great place to buy this stuff not far from us. Not sure what I will plant in the frog planter.

Crickets pups 13 days old

Today Crickets pups are 13 days old.

You might be noticing there are only 8 pups. A few days ago we lost two puppies.

Cricket was laying on top of them when she was sleeping and did not realize it and they were crushed. Little puppies can root right under a mama dog. Jeanelle went to check on everyone and found her and when she stood up she noticed the two pups were crushed. Jeanelle and I both cried over this. Things like this happen and it is just very sad.

The remaining 8 are all doing well tails were docked last week and Cricket got a check-up she is back to her normal weight of 153 #s. The pups are gaining weight fast which is really good.

Their eyes are starting to open and they are trying to walk.

More updates as time goes on.

Supercal Sunset Orange Petunia

This is a new variety of Petunia and I was able to snag 3 hanging baskets at Houston Garden Center.

I have no idea how much I paid for them I just wanted them lol.

This flower truly looks like a sunset.

These are supposed to be a bigger bloom and a rounder larger shape for the plant.

I love flowers, especially petunias. These will be planted in the ground for their visual impact.

Moo

This little calf moved in next door and I have been trying to get some cute pictures.

This was the pose I got most of the time it’s farther away than this.

One of the joys of country living is the livestock that is nearby. I love all the baby animals.

Two-day old Pups with Mom

Here are Cricket and her 10 pups at two days old.

We ended up taking them to our daughter’s house in Livingston yesterday.

She’s much better at this puppy thing than I am and knows what to watch out for.

Last night she brought 3 in the house because they looked dehydrated she fed them several times in the night and once this morning they are doing great and will go back with mom. This is just for supplemental feeding the bigger pups will always push the little ones out of the way so you have to help them out.

Cricket’s biggest pups were two males they weighed in at 20.4 oz the smallest was a female at 13.9 oz.
