Duranta erecta is a flowering shrub in the verbena family
It’s nick name is golden dew drop. The flowers are a deep sapphire color and truly outstanding looking.
My plant froze back and I thought it was dead with the winter freeze in February but low and behold it came back and now it is about five feet tall and 4 feet wide.
Capturing the beauty of such a tiny flower on camera is priceless.


That’s really beautiful. We don’t have that plant up here. I especially like the lighter edge to the petals.

Its sort of a droopy shrub plant droops in all directions but I do love it.
