Yellow crowned night heron

This is a juvenile female yellow – crowned night heron.

Normally it is the males I see but this female was hanging around yesterday morning.

When she posed on the dead tree stump I knew I needed my camera I went into the house and grabbed it lucky for me she was still there. I was able to get quite a few shots BUT the way the sun was they came out in silhouette form. I had to edit but they turned out quite nicely.

This was my favorite picture. I love her big eyes and her color.

The beauty of wildlife is all around me and I am blessed to get to photograph it.
