Texas cold blast and our insurance

I realize a lot of people have had issues with their insurance since the Texas Cold Blast issue. I am so sorry this has happened to so many people.

We have been very blessed with a really good insurance company and great agents.

Everything has been done virtually via video calls, pics taken by me, and phone calls. They even have a site to upload your images to.

Document everything the water touched when the pipes broke and if the ceiling caved in you are supposed to report it all.

We ended up with 3 leaks involving the kitchen, dining, and washroom. The leaks have been fixed the pipe has been replaced with PEX all the faucets had to be replaced and this has all been done. We had one sheetrock cave in the kitchen/ dining room this was a large hole that involved dropping nasty waster, insulation, and debris on our countertops, wood laminate floor, and kitchen table. Our cabinets in the washroom were dripping water and the water was dripping onto the floor, hot water heater, and freezer.

We are waiting on the sheetrock to be done but we did buy supplies when we found them just in case the shortage lasted for awhile. The hole has been temporarily covered up. We were able to find what PEX supplies we did not have online on Amazon.

We are supposed to have a check issued to us on Friday for our damages via direct deposit. I am very grateful for our insurance company and the people working for them.

There are still really good companies out there and if your lucky you have one of the good ones.
