The Grandchildren & Quarantine

We have 4 grandchildren that live about 15 minutes from us & we see them a few times a week.

This coronavirus has kept us from seeing them and it’s been horrible. They were all sick and the kids were tested and were negative thank god. It took forever for them to get tested.

I stayed home for 16 days then I went to my favorite local nursery early one morning. Josephs’s nursery is popular in my neck of the woods and I dropped $100.00 and felt so much better after getting more flowers than I had already bought before this all started. I love flowers and I spend a lot on them every spring.

I tried to get some paperwork notarized but they could only do 1 page a day so I said forget it.

I came back home I was gone about 45 minutes and that helped me so much. I have everything planted and have been repotting some stuff redoing the area around the pond and just playing in the landscape.

We planted some more garden plants today hubby moved some dirt and I trimmed some plants.

Our daughter brought the grandkids over today which was day 19 for isolation for me and them she told them they had to stay outside, no hugs, or kisses and stay 6 feet apart. We truly enjoyed seeing them they even picked mulberries off the tree.

They brought us our Cane Corso puppy named by our granddaughter Sophia – Miss. Cricket is doing well at 8 weeks old. There will be a post about her soon.

This isolation thing is not easy but in order to stop this virus, everyone needs to do what they are told to do. Do not decide to take a vacation and spread your germs around to a different area. Stay home and only go out for supplies when necessary. If you’re a senior citizen there are special hours in the early a.m. you can shop but please go 1 x a week. No one should be leaving the house every day.

We can all get through this one day at a time. Lots of prayers for you all stay safe and isolate.

Day 14 self-quarantine

Today is Day 14 of self-quarantine for me.

I have not left this yard or house. The only human contact I have had in 14 days in my husband. He has been picking up the supplies we need using senior hours that have been provided and taking Mother N Law her meals.

He even went and got 2 more yards of dirt we have been through 2 yards a few weeks ago. WHY you ask in case he gets bored lol. I think he’s scared they will run out of the dirt.

We worked in the yard all weekend and we both were exhausted.

He is down to 4 more work days and he will be officially retired. That’s two more this week and 2 next week.

I have some papers that need to be notarized and I need some more flowers for these new flower beds and flower pots.

At this point its a matter of when do I go out.

They said this week would be the worst as far as cases documented. That’s not encouraging to me wanting to get out there but I can not be a full-time hermit.

I do not like this.

Whats blooming in your backyard?

What is blooming in your backyard make a post and show us.

We have 4 colors of knock out roses, Trumpet Vine, Heather, Wisteria, Petunias and 2 kinds of wildflowers. That means we have 10 different colors of blooms right now just in the backyard.

A walk in the backyard brings me joy and peace seeing all the colors & blooms. Its like a breath of fresh air with color.

Grab your camera & take some pictures then make a post and share your colors in your yard with the rest of us.

9 days self quarantine

Today is day 9 of my self-quarantine.

I get bored easily and normally go into town a few times a week.

I have been taking some pics of flowers and a few of the dogs.

The good thing is I have a lot of craft supplies so I can create things. When I get tired of that I watch tv and I walk out in our yard and wander around with the dogs in tow. I can never do anything without them wanting to be in the middle of it. The oak trees are pollinating BIG TIME we need rain to wash it away.

I found something interesting I thought I would share. I have done lots of reading but this was the first time I read this about the surfaces.

I mixed in tea tree oil to some hand soap I  already had to make some antibacterial soap. Now my hands smell like pine sol lol.

Our local grocery store HEB now has a 7-day wait on curbside pickup. YIKES!

Lots of stores are closing which is a good thing because who really needs a new outfit for Coronavirus.

Germs and the Pandemic

What are you doing to protect your family during this pandemic?

Since I have high blood pressure, heart and lung issues I am taking extra precautions. My husband has high blood pressure and diabetes. We are trying to protect ourselves the best we can.

I have self quarantined for the last week. We only do HEB curbside pick up for groceries and we get Walmart and amazon deliveries. We go through the drive-through at CVS to pick up prescriptions.

Now what you have to remember is all your groceries, scripts and products have been touched by other people so disinfect boxes, packages and bottles of stuff with wet wipe disinfectants.

If you have some wipes that are dried out do not throw them away. Wet them with water and pour rubbing alcohol on them. Put in a zip lock and pack it into the container. Just remember to use these on surfaces only they work great.

I make meals for my mother n law she is 92 years old. Rather than me taking them over to her, my husband has been doing this for the last two weeks this was for both our safety. We will now change this to ringing the doorbell and doing a drop off only for her safety.

Elderly people should not be exposed to those who are around a lot of people my husband still has a few more weeks of working 3 day work weeks so, therefore, I think the drop off is the best option.

I keep Clorox disinfecting wipes so I have a few containers of those. I also have the brown Lysol,  & Lysol laundry sanitizer. On top of that, I have two gallons of Clorox. This is part of my normal cleaning products, not something I had to rush out and get.

I have a product called Oxvir Five 16 Concentrate it is a one-step disinfectant cleaner. This product is a Virucidal, Fungicidal, Bactericidal, Mildewcidal. It comes in 1 1/2 quart container of concentrate and its made to go on a hose and trust me very hard to get out otherwise. We figured out you can puncture the container and mix it up in a gallon jug but then you have now punctured this large container so glue the hole shut and tape with duct tape.

I have the quart containers of instant hand sanitizer that goes in the dispenser for commercial use.  I do love my auctions for cleaning products lol.

I feel as though this nightmare will not end anytime soon.  Wash your hands and then wash them again. Change out hand towels several times a day.  Disinfect doorknobs and surfaces that are touched often. Do not forget steering wheels and door handles in cars. Wipe off your credit and debit cards, the bottom of purses and handles and also your wallets.

Wash your children’s backpacks, shoes, etc.

Do not hug anyone, shake hands or get more than 6 feet from those you have to be around in stores or work.

Children are not showing symptoms like adults so do not trust the fact they are not sick today because they might be sick tomorrow. We have not been around our grandchildren in over a week.

We can all get through this by taking precautions and being smart and most of all using common sense.

Mr. Bird

I have posted pics of Mr. Bird in the past but Saturday morning when he went outside for the day he was posing in the clover so I could not resist getting a few shots of him.

I think he thought he was posing for Cats World Magazine.

He’s weighing in at 14#s he use to weigh 17# but his urinary food made him lose weight lol.

I think he’s 10 years old but would have to find some old pics to see if maybe he’s 11.

Spoiled rotten Mr. Bird he loves going outdoors but likes the perfect weather. He does not like the rain, wind or the heat or the cold.

Taking pics of your pets is important because they are part of the family and getting enlargements is all the better.

Succulents and Sedum plus more

Lately, I have been planting lots of succulents, sedum, and English ivy as well as airplane plants.

I had planned on doing a trade days sale but with this virus scare and my heart issues, I decided against it.

Now I will try and advertise to sell these locally but this is one of my latest DIY things. They are all so cute but the pedestals ones I love.

Amazon Delivery and Damages To Property

Amazon needs to seriously train their drivers better.

January 23 this driver saw the deep ditch out on the road and decided she was scared she would back into it so she wanted to turn around in our yard. The yard was wet it had rained the day before.

IF that was not enough she did not even come to the door to apologize. I went out there and asked her what she was thinking of turning around in our yard. All she said was ” I am sorry”. I told her she should NEVER damage someone’s property.

She sat there stuck in our yard for 4 hours waiting on a tow truck. Now, what IF I needed to go somewhere I could not have gotten out of my own driveway because she was sideways across it.

I contacted Amazon that day they gave me their insurance to contact since this was a lease truck it was a different department than the Amazon trucks. I did a report was promised a check a month ago I still have not gotten the check.

This is all over one load of sand for the cost of the damages. I told them sand runs $100. – $150.00.

I am a very frequent Amazon customer to the tune of 95 packages so far this year.

Amazon instead of sending an email LYING saying a check was released for the damages caused by your driver try to contact your customer to give them an update. I am so angry about this situation.

Even our dogs were shocked over the damage.

Amazon I must say dealing with you over our property damage caused by your driver SUCKS!
