Family History and Roots

I have played in our family history for probably 20 – years on and off.

The truth of the matter is on my side of the family its all been done and published in two different books.

“The Hogan Family of Hogansville” is a hardback book that goes back to Ireland and then into Georgia it is 487 pages and was published in 1999.

The second book is the “Tumlin” book it’s in a large spiral-bound binder broken down into sections and subfamily names and groups. It is at least 500 pages maybe more.

I admire my family that did both of these books long before there was any internet. Can you imagine all the writing letters to relatives to put the pieces together.

Can you imagine typing all this stuff up with the brackets to connect family and have it all published?

I even have about 10 pages of handwritten Family history from a great aunt of mine on the Hogan side of the family. She was so sweet to include me with her family history information over 20 years ago.

I am thankful I have the books that go with my family history and grateful for all the hard work my ancestors put into this. It sure would have been easier for them all with ancestry.com.

All I have to do now is update the books in the special sections for our family from 1999 in the Hogan book and 2000 in the Tumlin book. Then our part of the family is all caught up.

Everyone needs to remember if your lucky enough to have such books published in your family remember to update the proper sections.
