The Texas state bird is the mockingbird.
We have had one hanging around in our yard I know it is the same one is she goes to the exact same trees in the same spot every day.
Shes always singing and making noise. The only thing I hate is she keeps the bluebirds out of the yard I have seen her chase them off.
In the second picture, she caught a spider with eggs. Her favorite tree is a dead one.
The singing of a mockingbird is constant it is like they do not even take a breath.

And they can be quite mean. Blue Jays and Peacocks will not let any snakes in your yard. Everything in nature has a reason. We might not know all. Mocking Birds and Killdeer crack me up. Love em.

I would love to have peacocks but I am scared the dogs or cats would hurt them trying to play with them.
