Buzzard balance

There seems to always be buzzards flying overhead but I rarely see them on a fence post nearby.

Notice how the one struggles to balance on the tiny fence post.

He kept showing off and the other one is looking at him like ” Really”.

The little calf

This is one of the two calves next door to us

They have grown so much in the last 2 1/2 weeks.

I was able to get out and slosh through the muddy pasture in my rubber boots and get a few good pictures.

The other calf was not interested in getting his picture taken this one seemed quite curious.

These two pics are the same but they are edited differently as well as cropped differently.

I love the new crops like the first one.

One of the joys of living in the country is getting to enjoy the cows.

Ladybug vs Asian Beetle

The ladybug and the Asian beetle look very much alike but there are some differences.

Ladybugs have a red color and a black head. The Asian beetles are more orangish red and have a white face.

If your home has been invaded by what you think could be a ladybugs chances are its actually the Asian beetles.

These beetles will bury inside of the roof of a dogs mouth. There was an article posted in December in the Houston Chronicle about this. I will enclose the link.

Asian Beetles in a dogs mouth

I took these pictures on Wednesday with my macro lens so they are still hanging around.

Look for the white head then you will know it is them. Some people say these beetles bite so beware.

Never let your eyes fool you what you think is a cute ladybug might be the evil twin in disguise.

Coopers Hawk

The Cooper Hawks are stalking the birds in the clover in our pasture.

I caught two yesterday in a tree but one was gone by the time I got my camera so I was able to capture this one.

He let me get about 15′ from him before he flew away.

Piggly Wiggly

This is a 1950’s Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store ad. WOW look at those prices compared to today.

My grandparents had a Piggly Wiggly in North Louisiana we would go to sometimes. I remember the giant pig sign.

It sure would be nice if we could have these prices back for a while.

My how times have changed in 65 + years.

Flower bulb exchange

Would anyone be interested in a flower bulb exchange?

I love flowers and gardening and would really enjoy this if I can get others interested.

We have Louisiana Iris and Paperwhites. Last year I started gladiola bulbs and they were so pretty but Zoee keeps digging them up so I may not have any left.

This is a great way to get a wide assortment of bulbs the cheap way lol.

If you are interested let me know.

Hawk Stalk

I saw this Hawk in the pasture stalking the birds I guess I was doing the same thing.

I figured by the time I grabbed my camera he would leave but he stayed for a few quick shots even though he saw me.

Cows and Calves

I grabbed a few more pictures of the mama cows and the calves.

The first two pictures that baby is a week younger than the other one.

They are adorable always running and acting silly.
