This reddish egret was posing for my camera in Galveston.
Most of the time the shorebirds quite use to people being around on the beaches. If you make a sudden movement they will leave and then come back again.

Lovely photographs. I tried to get some pictures of a hawk at the water this summer, but it got spoked by the kids. It did come back eventually, however it took a while. Anyway, birds are such beautiful creatures to photograph. Thanks for sharing.
