After the rain

Mushrooms are fungi that lie dormant in the soil until the conditions are just right and usually they will bloom after a rain.

We have fertilized our yard 2 times so I am surprised to see any because the nitrogen in fertilizer normally gets rid of them in the soil.

I thought these were pretty neat looking so I decided to grab a few macro shots of them.
